1. Lower internodes and leaves with long simple or somewhat branched hairs surpassing the small stellate hairs; body of mature fruit (4.5–) 5–7 (–7.5) mm long, ca. 2–3.7 times as long as the beak.

1. Lower internodes and leaves glabrous or with small stellate hairs (rarely an occasional long hair surpassing them); body of mature fruit ca. (6.5–) 7–9 (–11) mm long, ca. 4–7 (–9) times as long as the beak.
