Melissa officinalis A. A. Reznicek

A native of southern Europe and perhaps Asia, long cultivated for its aromatic oil and rarely escaped to disturbed places and thickets. First collected in 1938 in Kalamazoo Co. The bruised foliage has a very pleasant citrus odor.
