Syringa reticulata tree A. A. Reznicek tree

A well-known Asian species, collected in Michigan as an escape in an open meadow habitat by R. McNeill in 2004 in Chippewa Co.

This is a distinctive, frequently cultivated small tree bearing large creamy white panicles in early summer. Following Li, Zhang & Alexander (2001), our plants appear to be var. reticulata, with larger leaves somewhat pubescent beneath.
