Hordeum pusillum R. W. Smith

Generally considered native only in the southern United States, but like H. jubatum, aggressively weedy. First collected in Wayne Co. in 1900, but all other collections are since 1968.

A small annual, quite unlike H. jubatum in overall appearance, although the spikelets are basically similar except for the expanded glumes (both glumes of the central floret and the inner glumes of the 2 lateral florets in each group of 3 florets).
