Chrysosplenium americanum B. S. Slaughter

Wet places, often forming large mats along streams and in cold springy spots or muddy hollows, especially in deciduous forests and cedar swamps. A very inconspicuous little plant, with greenish flowers, only the 8 brick-red anthers offering any color when it blooms in May.
