Napaea dioica R.W. Smith

A large, coarse herbaceous mallow, in a monotypic genus endemic to the midwestern United States, but native a little south and west of Michigan (though as close as Wood Co., Ohio). Found, presumably as an adventive or escape from cultivation, along a railway “south of Ann Arbor” (Washtenaw Co.) by L. K. Ludwig in 1948.
