Heterotheca villosa B. S. Walters

Chrysopsis villosa of Michigan Flora.

Native and widespread to the west, a waif eastward into Michigan. Collected in 1902 by E. J. Cole at the Phillips farm, Grand Rapids (Kent Co.), where several other western waifs occurred. D. Henson collected the species 80 years later along the Soo Line railroad in Schoolcraft Co. Sparingly collected in dry sandy areas in northern Michigan since then.
