Another Old World weed, locally introduced in North America, collected in 1905 on an iron ore pile at Bessemer, Gogebic Co.

A very similar species, likewise local in northern North America, but densely glandular-viscid, S. viscosus L., has not yet been found in Michigan but is to be expected in the state, for it has been collected in Ontario as close as Echo Bay (east of Sugar Island in the St. Mary’s River) and Thunder Bay.
