Chrysanthemum balsamita of Michigan Flora.

A pleasantly aromatic Eurasian species, occasionally escaped from cultivation and locally well established along roadsides and railroads; fields, banks, meadows; often but by no means always near old homesites. First collected in 1880 in Van Buren Co. A form with very short rays is known but has not yet been collected in Michigan.
