A native of Eurasia, long cultivated in parts of the Old World for use of its tender new growth as a salad plant; more often a weed in this country. Our collections are from roadsides, fields, and railroads, insofar as any habitat is stated. First collected in 1902 in Allegan Co., but not collected after 1920.
