Citrullus lanatus B. S. Walters

A native of Africa, widely grown for the fruit, which produces more than enough seeds to account for the few collections as a waif on filled land, shores, and disturbed places; the Baraga Co. collection label states explicitly “Many escapes at L’Anse Sewage Plant” (E. A. Bourdo in 1960, MSC). First collected in 1921 in Cheboygan Co.
